Design

Product designer

Design for non-software-people. Trade owners and field techs use TradeOS in the truck, not at a desk — your job is to make sure the experience respects their time.

About the role

You'll be our first design hire. The visual language and product flows are working but unevenly — there's a clear "we haven't designed this yet" feel in too many places. Your job is to take it from "competent" to "the obvious choice."

What you'll do

  • Own the design system. Components, tokens, motion, illustration — all of it.
  • Design new features end-to-end: research, flows, mocks, and pixel-pushing in production with engineering.
  • Run customer interviews and field visits. We want a designer who is comfortable in a customer's truck, not just a Figma file.
  • Set the visual direction for marketing alongside the founders. You'll have a strong voice on the brand.

Who you are

  • 5+ years shipping product design at a SaaS company.
  • You can both design a complex flow and ship the polish on a single screen. We need both.
  • Comfortable in Figma and comfortable enough in code to push small CSS / Tailwind changes yourself.
  • Care deeply about non-technical users. You've designed for someone who isn't on Twitter.
  • Have a portfolio that includes mobile work, not just dashboards.

Bonus points

  • You've designed for a workforce that uses the product on the move — drivers, nurses, field service, retail.
  • You've worked at a 5–15 person startup and know what "design as a function" looks like when you're the only one doing it.

Comp & benefits

  • $140k–$175k base depending on level and location.
  • Meaningful early-stage equity.
  • Health, dental, vision (we cover 100% for you, 75% for dependents).
  • Unlimited PTO with a 3-week minimum.
  • $2k/year learning + conference budget.
